FAQs

How soon can I get an appointment?

Although we are not an urgent care clinic, we strive to get patients in the same day for acute or sick appointments.  Keep in mind that you may not see your regular PCP if he is already booked or double booked, but you will be offered another physician or our PA. Our policy is to schedule you with your PCP for your annual exams and follow up visits through the year for chronic disease management, but ask for your understanding when it comes to acute and same day appointments.

What insurances do you accept?

As a general rule, we accept most insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid, Medicare Advantage plans, and most PPO and POS type plans.  We cannot guarantee that we are “in network” for some plans with “narrow networks”, so it is always best to contact your insurance plan to see if Guadalupe Family Health is in network.

Why do I have to fill out this paperwork again?

It is imperative to keep up with the many changes in our patients lives.  We strive to verify information with you at each visit and ask that you inform us of any changes as soon as possible.  We require updated information yearly.

Why Is My Doctor Running Late?

Our providers take the time that is needed to take care of you. Sometimes that means that you may see the doctor for 10 minutes, sometimes it may take an hour. Our clerical team tries their best to predict what each patient will take, but it is impossible for them to estimate perfectly, as every office visit is unique. When we are patients, we prefer that our providers don’t rush our care, and we hope that you understand that we do our best and do respect your time and regret every extra minute that you wait. We promise to give all of our patients the same attention and appreciate your patience and understanding.

What do I do if I need someone after hours or on the weekend?

Our providers rotate call and are available 24/7 for your and your family.  If you need to reach someone after hours, please try our office first for further instructions or you may contact Guadalupe Regional Medical Center directly and they will connect you with the provider on call.
